The MG TC was one of MGs most sucsesful Sports Cars. Introduced in October 1945 just a few months after the end of WW2 and produced until 1949, some 10, 000 were built. Based on the popular Pre War models, much enjoyed by British and US Servicemen during the War, the sucsess was guarenteed in the US Market as well as the Home Market.. Last on the road in 1967, this dismantled 1946 MG TC will make a wonderful project for somebody. I bought it a few years ago from West Yorkshire and Bath, from the same family. It had been owned by two brothers (now deceased) and I believe with enthusiasm, was taken apart to ‘restore’ it... Life and families get in the way and before progress can be made, it’s too late.... I was delighted to be able to source the missing parts (in Bath) and re-unite the car albeit still in pieces. The chassis has been blasted and primed and is in excellent and straight condition, it does need both front dumb iron knuckles re-riviting (a straight forward task which can be easily carried out by Chassisbuild in Bradford). The body is tired, but easily restorable, wood sections are all available from The Hutson Motor Company in Bradford and the mechanical side of things are all easily restorable by a compitent amatature enthusiast.

As with all ‘projects’ it’s difficult to determine if ALL the parts are there... In my asking price, I have assumed two things...: Some parts may be missing and there is no V5 with the car... However, most, if not ALL parts are available for the TC either new or second hand and I’m confidently advised that with the assistance of either the MG Car Club or the MG Octagon Car Club, the registration process should be straight forward... I do have (included in the sale) an old Buff Log Book and a photograph (see pictures) of the car showing it’s Registration number; along with the original Chassis plate (matching the chassis number).
My reason for offering this delightful project for sale is that I have too many other projects ahead of me, and this one is at the back of the queue, in reality, I’m not going to have time to complete and enjoy it, so I’d like to offer that oppertunity to someone else. I’d really like the project to be bought and embarked upon by a younger enthusiast and whilst it may appear daunting to someone who as yet hasn’t experienced the driving pleasure of the T Type MG, the result will be extremely rewarding.
