1959 Berkeley B95 Roadster 700cc Micro car. An iconic race car of its day.
Running a Royal Enfield 4 Stroke Constellation engine 692cc Air cooled Twin Cylinder (B105 spec)
Only 178 produced between 1959 - 1960 (64 years old) This little unicorn really is a rare old girl. She was off the road from the 60/ 70's and their for had to be re-registered back in 2021
She was bought as a barn find back in 2014 when work started to bring her back to life, she was then purchased by the previous owner as an unfinished project and then finished off back in 2021.
This little gem is like new underneath (and can been seen in the pictures), bodywork has been left in its original state with lots of patina and battle scars. Previous owner had planned to do the bodywork last but sadly had to sell due to ill health. Personally I think the patina gives her a lot a character.
Runs and drives exceptionally well, with lots and lots of new parts that the previous owner spend a very long time sourcing or having made.
She comes with a box full of history, manuals and books, including photos of when first purchased back in 2014 before she was brought back to life.
Plus lots of very rare spares and wet weather gear.

Berkeley cars were the fastest of the micro cars of the 50/ 60's and had a lot of success on the race tracks. They were capable of over 100MPH if you were very brave
Berkeley were one of the first to use semi GRP monocoque construction and front wheel drive.

NOTES FROM PREVIOUS OWNER
Sterling Moss even used one on the track. Mine is one of the largest it has a Royal Enfield 700cc Constellation engine, there were 2 states of tune the B95 and the B105 which related to the top speeds.
A garage called Mantles were very close to the factory and were the main dealer, they also raced them and did there own mod's on their cars. I can't prove it but my B95 could be a Mantles car? It has a lot of traits that Mantles did, it has rack and pinion steering, a specially made stronger diff, extra gauges for oil and cyl head temp, twin seats that only Mantles fitted, it also had a rear brake compensator only fitted to race cars, (now removed) it also has the Royal Enfield Constellation engine so is to the B105 spec.) e. t. c
The car was put into storage sometime in the late 60's early 70's it stayed there until 2014. When Mr Stringer brought it and started to restore it. I brought it from him in a part restored state and finished restoring it….
