Harris 750 Bonneville build no 1049 for sale.
August '87 bike MOT October '24
The bike had a major rebuild 2019-20 I have masses of receipts for 1000's.
Full engine rebuild inc barrels pistons new valve guides, full gearbox rebuild including all new gears, carbs rebuilt, its fitted with an uprated oil pump and an oil pressure gauge which tends to suggest it had some oil related issue prior rebuild. Its done less than 2, 000 miles since this rebuild and as such just run in.
Its fitted with a cartridge oil filter, primary belt drive, SRM clutch pressure plate and a seven plate clutch, - no clutch slip.
It runs and rides really well, sat on near new Avon Roadrunners. As a Harris bike it has twin Brembo front brakes and Brembo rear, Palioni front forks which are in excellent condition , no leaks and ride/ damp well. Hagon rear shocks again in good order. The rather spongy standard brake lines have been switched for braided lines.
Its a really nice usable bike and I do use it as regularly as I can, it would happily wander off round Scotland.
The frame paint looks like its original, again in good order, the mileage at 13500 miles could also be genuine, the oldest MOT I have is 2001 showing 5, 800 miles.
Ok some other bits, being honest and a bit picky:- The tank at some stage has had a paint repair on the left side where your knees rest, more than 3ft away you cant see it , closer you can see it could have been done better.
The right side exhaust fell off on one ride and has some road rash associated. The tacho drive threads where they screw onto the cable are a bit worn and the cable can work loose (currently lockwired in place).
The bike has had regular oil and filter changes (every 500 mile) and is kept in good order as if I want to go out it needs to be usable.
I wanted a Bonneville since my mate had one at Uni, scratched that itch and fancy a change. I have some spares and original parts for bike.
Any questions just ask .
