1966 Triumph T120 Bonneville For Sale

  • United Kingdom

Description

Named after Johnny Allens achievements on the Bonneville Salt Flats its Utah, USA setting an average of 193. 3 mph on a Triumph Motorcycle. The T120 was released in 1959 bearing the Bonneville name. Production continued until 1975 with numbers declining rapidly in the last years of production due to political issues withing the triumph engineering factory and customers favoring the larger 750cc T140 model.
Offered as a high end, sporting model of Triumph's already very well-established Tiger T110, The Bonneville had Twin Amal Monobloc carburetors and a performance inlet camshaft on a 650cc engine. It became known as one of the fastest racing engines of its day and was incredibly popular among the "Rockers” and "Café Racers” of the 1960s.

Our Bonneville was produced in 1966 and was registered in November of that year. GAN476D is collector standard example – subject to a concours restoration in 2004 and has had little use since, sitting a private collection in Cambridgeshire until we took the bike in part exchange for a 1960's Morris. Twenty years on, the chrome is still excellent, and the paintwork is first class. The rebulit engine runs nicely and the bike rides very well, as can be expected from such a top class restoration.
