Description
Presenting two rare and historical triumph motorcycles for sale.
Both bikes are genuine low milage examples which are in original condition and never been restored
I will describe each one in turn
First up is the last version of the original bonneville, a 1972 650 Triumph T120 v in tiger yellow with the five speed gearbox. This is in exceptional original condition having covered a mere 16890 miles with only a slight patina of wear on the air box cover and still has the original "made in England" italic writing on the frame The tank is spotless and is unmarked along with the rest of the frame and trims. The only aftermarket part fitted was a Boyer Brandsen Mark 3 electronic ignition unit which was fitted around 1996. This Bonneville is in beautiful condition and has to be seen to really appreciate how original it is and anyone would find it hard to find one as authentic as this one anywhere in the world.
The second bike is a 1982 Triumph TR65 650 Thunderbird
Although not quite as pristine as the Bonneville this thunderbird is also in original condition and has never been restored and is probably the rarest of the production triumphs as only around 400 were made by Triumph before the factory closed in the mid eighties The chrome work on the wheels and front mudguard has some slight pitting but would easily be restored back to its former condition and the front disc will need replacing or would clean up after some miles of use. These are the only negatives about the bike and this has only covered 2090 miles!
I am only the proud custodian for these two bikes , along with another two British classics which will need recommissioning, and they have been in my possession since the summer of last year when the owner, who is my daughter's father in law lost his storage when my daughter moved house.
All I have done to the bikes is cleaned them with warm soapy water, cleaned the carbs, changed the oil, fitted new plugs, added fresh petrol and after that , both bikes started on the third or fourth kick !!!. I taxed and insured the Bonneville and it genuinely rides like a new bike as does the thunderbird.
Both can be seen ticking over like a couple of Swiss watches on the video, which was taken yesterday
Justvrecentley I had a classic bike mechanic fit a new capacitor on the Bonneville and I have since fitted a new front brake master cylinder on the thunderbird
Unfortunately the owner has now passed away and I am selling these on behalf of his family.
The Bonneville was imported from the US in February 1994
My daughter's father in law then bought the bike in October 1996
The Thunderbird is a UK bike and was bought in July 1997 and has two previous owners
The last time the bikes road tax expired was 31/ 03/ 08 for the Bonneville and 28/ 02/ 06 for the Thunderbird
Most of the pics are from yesterday and the bikes can be bought as a pair or separated
Price is open to serious offers only
Thank you for taking the time out to read the advert
