1964 Jensen CV8, four seater GT superseded the 541 series. 3 owners including myself.

A full history file and documentation is included in the sale, including all service history.

The interior of this car has an abundance of factory "mushroom" coloured Connelly leather hide with a nice comprehensive instrumentation of period dials and sports a 17 1/ 4" inch polished adjustable steering wheel with an attractive high quality hand fitted bespoke carpet.

The seats are fully adjustable with the gloriously chromed fittings constructed by Hallam, Sleigh and Cheston Ltd. Hidden within one rear side pocket is a hardly used original first aid kit in original tin. Also fitted is the rare Motarola Jensen radio, having the illuminated "Jensen" logo on the dial when switched on.

The engine block has been completed rebuilt with new pistons, bearings, timing chain and the heads have also been rebuilt.

It also has the best pair of car horns I have ever heard.

The four barrel Carter AFB carburettor has been fully serviced and rebuilt by Exeter Engineering.

Jensen only built 500 CV8's. There are approximately 250 left in the world. So here is an opportunity to acquire a rarity of British sports car history with unique Sixties charm combined with American muscle.

This car was supplied by prestigious luxury cars showroom Charles Follets (Mayfair) Ltd on 24th April 1964 to a Miss Chetham of Chelsea, London, SW3 (Charles Follets stainless steel name plates positioned on both inner door sills). In 1983 it was purchased by a Peter Havas working for the New York Times in London. Within 2 years it was shipped over to America with two other cars he had purchased, included is documentation from Peter Havas stating that it was "a fast fun ride". It was part of a classic car collection and ended up stored for 35 years.

Offered for sale in America it was purchased by the previous owner in 2015, shipped back to England where a 6 year nut and bolt rebuild was undertaken. It must be emphasized that at all times the owner had gone to great lengths to keep all components of this car original where at all possible. Preferring to spend time refurbishing rather than just quickly "buying a new one". Therefore keeping this vehicle as original as possible.

Certain items have wisely been replaced such as alternator, ignition components, water pump, water hoses, fuel pump, tyres, window seals and all internal trim, all brake pipes running to the Dual piston callipers, brake pads and a brand new windscreen as the old one was damaged.
