This well presented, excellent driving Morris Minor 1000 Super-de-Luxe was built for the home market between 28-29th April 1957 and supplied new by Stewart and Ardern Limited in Turquoise with Grey upholstery. The car had spent several years in Lancashire with a MMOC member in fairly regular use before coming to us for the first time in early 2018.
206 LMM was subject of a comprehensive restoration between 2013 and 2015. This included a body restoration where new floors, boot floor, sills, rear inner wings, and rear wings were fitted ahead of a full re-sprayed in Clipper Blue. The Minor was fitted with new bumpers and overriders and various new rubbers, kick plates and finishing trims.
Mechanically the Morris was subject to an unleaded head, later 1098cc engine, reconditioned gearbox, larger front brakes, new cylinders, shoes and brake pipes. The suspension was poly bushed and a new petrol tank fitted and SU fuel pump fitted. The interior trim was upgraded with reclining Metro seats for added comfort, new carpets, door cards and headlining and further work expenditure included new tyres, flashing indicators fitted alongside working semaphores and final touches included a CD player, battery isolator and waxoyl.
Since selling the Morris in 2018 it has covered over 4000 miles and has proven ideal for ideal for regular use, touring extensively over Northern England. A detailed notebook records all its trips over the past six years to shows, events and places of interest across the North East. The Morris has been MOT tested each year with its recent owner, regularly serviced and its absolutely on the button. The Minor presents well with a strong straight body, bright nicely aged paintwork, smart chrome and tidy engine bay. The interior trim presents very nicely and on the road our Minor is absolute delight with a lovely excellent performing engine and gearbox and efficient brakes to match top class handling.
