SRH2367
This is a very solid, cherished vehicle with a comprehensive service history which has, over the course of its long life, enjoyed great care and expenditure.
Owned by my family since 2012, and maintained by my father, a dyed in the wool RR enthusiast until his passing in 2018. The large service file indicates the work he carried out (including work to ignition system, replacing the TH400 gearbox and overhauling the suspension and braking components) whilst maintaining the fluid service intervals. I inherited the vehicle and since 2018, lacking my father’s mechanical skills have spent close to £15, 000 on its upkeep and restoration.
It runs extremely well thanks to recent work by RR&B Garages (Bromsgrove) and has completed several long journeys of late without a murmur. It is, and always has been, dry stored and used as regularly as dry weather permits – astonishingly comfortable, quiet and powerful, equally at home in town or country – in my family’s ownership it has covered c. 6k miles.
Electrically all bulbs and switches work as they should, with the air conditioning extremely effective.
Cosmetically the vehicle presents very well as can be seen in the photographs. The common rust areas in the wheel arches and sills were remedied 2 years ago and is photo-documented in the service file; consequently, the flanks of the vehicle have been re-painted. There remains some evidence of lead loading movement in the corners of the windscreens (front and rear) as is common with these vehicles, and some marking to the paint commensurate with age. There is evidence of slight galvanic corrosion to the OS wing-mirror mount, and some light corrosion to the rear valance is apparent. Lifting of the Everflex vinyl in the gutter channels in some places. Brightwork is excellent, with new bumpers recently fitted to the rear. An extensive paint correction has been carried out at the end of 2023.
The interior presents equally well – while some lifting of lacquer is evident in places (notably around the air vents where condensation from the A/ C has crept behind the lacquer), and seats reveal the patina of nearly 50 years of use, the overall impression as of the vehicle as a whole is one of hand-made, meticulous luxury, ready to be enjoyed.
Full documentation files (including original factory build sheets), owner’s handbook, service booklets, tool kit and jack are all present.
Viewing welcome.
