We are delighted to present for sale this Land Rover® 90, which has covered just 67. 775 from new, totalling just 1993 miles a year – and just 13, 000 since 2005, based on the MOT history. In the past, this 90 has also been rebuilt onto a Galvanised Chassis and spoiled with a raft of new parts – including diff guards, raised suspension, modular wheels and tyres and North America Spec (NAS) external roll cage for safety purposes.
Externally, we think the photos speak for themselves – the paintwork is original inside and out, and we have given it a good clean and polish – we didn’t want to repaint this truck as we felt it was just right for this 90 – the right combination between modern with the upgrades and period. There are loads of desirable features – the NAS spec roll cage for safety, rock sliders, the modular wheels and tyres with the rear tub mounted spare, snorkel air intake, tow bar with electrics, etc etc.
On the inside, there are two front high back seats, with 3 point safety belts – deluxe matting is fitted to the footwells. There is a central cubby box with cupholders – handy for the drive through – along with a 12v socket to allow phone charging etc in the central dash. A fire extinguisher is fitted for safety, which is a nice touch. Those who are “in the know” will see how tidy it is in here – no nasty scratches, no dash damage etc etc. Between the seats, there is an outlet for a working remote controlled Webasto heater – this can heat the cabin without the engine…. so either prior to setting off on a morning with the push of a button (incredibly useful in the winter – it really gets the cabin warm!) or if you are parked for several hours on a shoot, waiting for a member of the family etc- you can heat the cabin without wasting your fuel. The truck cab roof means not only is this an easier space to heat, it is also warmer in the winter, more secure (as it all locks!) and also less noisy due to a smaller space for the noise to reverberate around.
Out on the road this is a really, really nice truck to drive – the low mileage and the rebuild means it feels lovely to drive with power steering, five speed gearbox and coil springs – the raised position means a commanding view of the road ahead too. The 300TDi engine (the best for both performance and reliability) has an infectious turbo whistle… and the galvanised chassis means it won’t rot away if you do plan to go “mudplugging” and the diff guards will protect against damage too.
This truck comes with its original books – the 90/ 110 owners manual, the Webasto Heater manual and how to programme the remote control functions, the factory service manuals CD – etc etc.
In summary, if you are looking for a simple “analogue” 90 which benefits from all the modern items you’d want – high back seats, power steering, five speed gearbox and coil springs – which has also been rebuilt and can stand the test of time, this must be worth considering. When one considers that in 2030 this will be an MOT & Tax exempt truck too – which already benefits from Classic Insurances – it becomes a very attractive prospect indeed.
