An original LHD Jaguar e-type Series 3 imported from the US which has just completed a 4 year nut and bolt restoration which includes a number of desirable modifications and upgrades.
At the time panelwork was done, the sills were strengthened with additional panels to stiffen the body. To improve handling uprated torsion bars were fitted as well as anti-roll front and rear.
Standard shock absorbers have been replaced with bespoke adjustable shocks made specifically for this car by Nitron, renowned for their sports suspension. Ride height front and rear as well as reverb can be set to suit driving style and certainly give the car a very planted feel on the road.
The fully rebuilt 5. 3l engine has been fitted with Electronic Fuel Injection made by Jenvey and managed through a wasted spark system, coil packs and an Emerald ECU. Coil packs are mounted ahead of the engine in front of the engine on an aluminium shelf to keep leads short and away from heat.
Rolling road tuned with output of 315BHP. The fuel tank has been modified to take an in-tank fuel pump which is accessable via an inspection hatch and fuel pressure is controlled via a regulator. The car is fitted with a fuel temperature sensor and a wideband lambda sensor to optimise fuel/ air delivery. Fuel lines are insulated and the engine fitted with bespoke heat shields.
Cooling is through a modern aluminium radiator with a separate radiator for the automatic gearbox. A third radiator for the a/ c unit is situated in the nose. Evans waterless coolant is used with the benefit of a much higher boiling point (this avoiding pressure build up) as well as preserving the engine, particularly the studs, from rusting. Modern twin ten blade fans ensure good air flow through the radiator when required.
High torque starter, modern alternator and a number of fuses relocated for convenience under the bonnet. New wiring looms and relays.
Brakes are Fosseway six pot calipers at the front and four pot at the back with Green Stuff discs and pads. The Fosseway handbrake system has also been installed. Easy bleed system.
Exhaust is a Classic Fabs four pipe system with Tubular Branch Manifolds which improve performance and sound.
Gearbox is a standard BW three speed with internal modifications to manage the additional power.
Wheels are 16" Realm Engineering D style two piece aluminium, Conti tyres.
The interior is bespoke double stitched grey leather, alcantara and Wilton carpet. Carpet has been taken over the sill to prevent scuffing and the rear box is made of robust wood, leather covered with luggage rails and a lock. Speakers front and rear use Series 1 grills and the centre console and gauge panel are aluminium. Gauges are original and all overhauled by Caerbont Auto Instruments, lights are all LED. A/ c is the original Jaguar unit overhauled with a smaller/ modern condensor.
The car is painted in Jaguar Pacific Blue. Hood is new navy blue mohair.
