1973 Morgan 4/4 - One owner since 1973, immaculate

Morgan introduced the 4-4 at the London and Paris Exhibitions in 1936. The new model received its name to differentiate it from the three-wheeler, indicating four cylinders and four wheels. The car had a Z section full width steel chassis with boxed cross members and the body was an ash frame panelled in steel. The 4-4 maintained Morgan’s reputation for building fine performance cars and special sports 4-4 models were built for racing and entered into Le Mans 24-hour races before the second world war.

In 1955 the Morgan 4/ 4 was reintroduced as the Series Two. This was a car of similar design to the Plus Four but fitted with a smaller 10 h. p. Ford side valve engine and integral gear box, the object being to provide a sports car with a lively performance and appearance for the enthusiast with modest means. The 4/ 4 continues to use a Ford engine today, over half a century later.

The Dark Blue car on offer has been in the current ownership since 1973. It was acquired after being with its first owner for only three months. She decided to part with her new Morgan, when learning that she was expecting a baby. It has been sparingly used and always maintained properly by marque experts. It comes with unique provenance with details available upon request. In 2011, the car underwent a full technical refurbishment, with emphasis on keeping its unique original condition.
