the S Type was created by Jaguar Chief William Lyons as a step up from the Mk2's incorporating the E Type independent rear suspension, sub frame insulated from the body and inboard disc brakes.
Autocar Magazine stated "there can be few big saloons in which the ride is as good an in the Jaguar S Type"
The full width Walnut dashboard crammed with gauges is a delight.
