A UK-supplied, three-owner R129 SL500 with just 19, 385 miles from new.
This extraordinary car was sold new by Road Range of Liverpool in November 1999. It was specified in rare, and in my opinion gorgeous, Amber Red metallic with contrasting Saffron leather interior and a black hood. It has xenon headlamps, rear seats, heated/ memory electric seats and diamond-cut alloy wheels. Full options list detailed below.
Just under a year later the SL was acquired by its second keepers of 23 years. Used sparingly (the family had several other vehicles at their disposal) and always garaged, it has clocked up just over 19k miles from new, making it one of the lowest mileage examples in existence.
The car comes with two remote keys, two credit card keys and its original dealer key ring. It has all its books, manuals and PDI sheet.
There are six services recorded, the most recent of which was carried out 600 miles ago.
As you might expect this SL500 is in incredible condition throughout and is without doubt the nicest we have ever encountered. Having just received a two-stage machine polish the Amber paintwork is exceptional. The hood and hood windows are original and unmarked. The factory hard top is in present (not pictured) and in equivalent condition. The alloy wheels are unmarked and wear matching Continental tyres all round.
The interior shows no signs of wear or fade, it is the sharpest 129 interior we have seen. The original foot mats and MB-branded Becker ‘Audio 30’ stereo is still in place.
An incredible opportunity for the collector to acquire what must be one of the lowest mileage final-facelift SL500s. With superb provenance and gorgeous colours, this is a very special car.
