Note that, as a 1997 Model Year car, this Continental R has the engine, gearbox, control system and other upgrades from the 1996 update, that give significantly better performance and operation.
This car has significant Bentley Drivers Club Concours history, including Commended in 2016, Highly Commended, at the Blenheim Palace Centenary Concours of 2019, and Inter-Regional Challenge Winner, in 2022.
Under my ownership since 2015. Records with the car include original Bentley Motors build schedule, and comprehensive service / ownership record from new. Regularly serviced to Bentley Motors schedules by specialist engineering companies, including the all-important 60, 000 mile 'hydraulic' service and the recent service, both by Royce Engineering and Service, Betchworth, who have looked after this car since 2007.
Mulliner adaptations include 18 inch chrome alloy wheels (with virtually new tyres), engine/ wing side vents, stainless steel headlight surrounds, large bore stainless steel exhaust, Mulliner alloy pedals, and contrasting enamelled brake calipers. A spare set of four 17 inch wheels, with all season tyres, is provided for winter motoring, within the price.
A minor upgrade detail, that sets this car apart, is the aluminium power steering reservoir - overcoming the potential for split and leakage from the standard plastic version. From new, the car was fitted with a Nokia phone, in cradle, with microphone, integrated into the audio system. I have obtained a suitable historic phone, as illustrated. You just need your SIM card to make that work. The car has a multi-disc CD player integrated into the original audio system: all in full working order.

Attending a Bentley Drivers Club 'Continental Breakfast' event in 2015, we just fell in love with the beauty of the Continental R lines. After some disappointments with the regular offerings (now available in region £40 - £50k), we were delighted to find Galahad at Royce Engineering and Service Limited, Bentley specialists of Betchworth. Quite set apart by the Mulliner accessories, and brilliant contrast between the Royal Ebony coachwork and chrome alloy wheels, Galahad immediately set the standard and became the car of choice. His beauty and condition have been rewarded by the discerning BDC Judges at three Concours events, winning Commended (2016), Highly Commended (2019) and Regional Challenge winner (2022). A selection of photographs are attached, but more images will be uploaded. I have a complete documented history file, from Bentley Motors build records, through to the latest service records. A full MOT will be provided at time of sale. The car comes with the full boxed tool kits, the boxed Owner's Handbook, and the Bentley Technical Handbook (including service record). Our reason for sale: We have a new puppy, and are finding that we just are not able to enjoy Galahad enough, now. So - very sadly - it is time for him to find a new custodian, for the next part of his history.
