1936 MG TA 0284

0284 was the 32nd TA off the production line after the two prototype cars. Still sporting many of her original features including original engine No 1475, which was rebuilt in 2006 with new white metaled bearings, etc (have receipts for work)

She starts and runs very cleanly, loads of power from the MPJG and drives beautifully. Brakes are solid and straight. Gear box is crisp, positive and quiet. Upgraded to a later TA box with synchro on 3 and 4.

All lighting works as it should, powered from twin 40AHr 12v batteries (new last year) and an upgraded 15A Dynamo with electronic regulator. She doesn't need to sit on a trickle charger!

Recent work has seen a radiator flush, new hoses and clamps and a Smiths water temp gauge so I can be sure she is staying cool in the summer. (During last summers 30C OAT she cruised at around 75C and the most I have seen is 85C while queuing at lights.)

Recent carb rebuild with new needles, jets and seals.

New tyres were fitted last year (the best old tyre was retained for the spare)

Internally, she is in fine form. Cream upholstery is in very good condition.
She comes with half tonneau and full hood with side screens. I have enough material to make a full Tonneau, just requires a few lift-a-dots installing.

Bodywork is in very good condition and paint are in good condition. There are some chips and cracks as to be expected from a slightly older restoration. She is not concours, but a very reliable and drivable car.

I have a very nice set of original tools (no rubber tool trays) and a set of dry and wet covers which are included.

She is always kept in a heated workshop and is in regular use so the mileage will continue to rise!

Reason for sale..... it breaks my heart to have to let her go, but 'apparently' home renovations are more important! I just hope I can find a loving home for her where she will be enjoyed, well cared for and create many more nice memories.

Price drop to facilitate quick sale, sensible offers considered.

Rolled off the production line in mid 1936, ground up restoration from 2000 until 2010 when the owner sadly passed away and the car was stored. Recommissioned approx 2020. She has done only 1250mi since total rebuild and is a throughly reliable little car.

We have catalogue of receipts from the restoration to prove.
