For sale is a rather rare, late model Jaguar XJ 4. 0 Sovereign Long Wheel Base.
Owned by a friend since 2016, it has been looked after and serviced annually.
Last Service and MOT was in November and it has had plenty of money spent over the years.

It runs and drives beautifully and as an XJ should. Really does put modern cars to shame and you can appreciate how nice this would have been when it was new.
It has the later AJ-V8 engine with the uprated timing chains and tensioners:

Starts first turn of the key. Idles in the correct manner.
No fluid leaks. No overheating.
Pulls hard all the way to the red line. Has a very good turn of pace and will keep accelerating smoothly way beyond licence losing speeds.
Jaguar’s ‘J-Gate’ 5 Speed Gearbox is smooth and changes gear effortlessly. Sports Mode engages as it should.
The suspension is smooth and composed, ironing out all bad road surfaces. The car gives a magic carpet ride. Slight knocking from rear anti roll bar links.
Good tyres all round with decent tread.
Brakes seem fine and stop the big cat well.
The exhaust is solid with no leaks or blows.
Generally in very good condition for the year. Marks, blemishes and stone chips as to be expected. Small dent underneath OSR light, front wing has light bubbling and a few scuffs on the bumpers. One fog lamp needs replacing. No major rust or rot and the lacquer is in good order. Cleans up well, as per the photos.
Interior is in good condition, with no rips or tears. A few marks on the leather, but these should clean out. The cabin of this era XJ is a pleasant place to be.
With is being a long wheel base model, it has ample room in the rear. The standard wheel base models are as spacious at the back as you would expect, but no problem with this one. You can even move the front passenger seat forward if you fancy extra room, via the electric buttons.
It has 3 keys, including the green valet key. IT also has 2 remote fobs, but these require new batteries or re-syncing with the car.
Comes with a folder of paperwork, and has been looked after by a Jaguar / Bentley specialist since 2016.
It’s a turn key classic which will get you where you need to go with plenty of style and panache. It’s also fun to drive and can be hustled along the back roads if you are in the mood – with almost 300 BHP it’s no slouch!
