This is my stunning matching numbers 1971 Norton 750 commando, I bought this bike 3 years ago as a very complete and original low mileage, strong running but slightly scruffy American import, it has been subjected to a full restoration which briefly consisted of:

Top end strip and refresh, the bike is only showing a mere 12k miles, I suspect this to be correct, the motor is like new inside, and on standard bore, with no wear whatsoever, for peace of mind I fitted a new set of rings, re seated the valves and rebuilt with new gaskets

The gearbox has been stripped and checked… again, no wear and like new, I did fit new bearings and oil seals, again for peace of mind

The frame, swing arm and all other black components have been blasted and powder coated, they look fantastic

The tank and side panels are steel and finished in stunning 2k black with gold pinstripes and decals

The forks have been refurbished with new top nuts, stanchions, springs and seals

The rear shock absorbers are new Girlings

The isolastics are new and upgraded to vernier type front and rear

The exhaust system and relevant mounting hardware is all new front to back

The wiring loom is brand new custom made, for reliability electronic ignition is fitted along with a solid state reg / rec unit, it has new coils, plugs and leads, a new ignition switch and battery

The clutch and primary chain is new

The seat and fixing knobs are new (the original seat does come with the bike, it’s in good shape but has a small split in the cover)

A new spin on oil filter kit is fitted

The carbs have been refurbished

The speedometer was working when i got the bike but the glass was cracked, I sent it away for professional refurb, I have retained to original mileage

Other new parts include:
Handlebars, Centre stand, fuel taps and lines, oil lines, Both mudguards, brake shoes, All cables, brake(front and rear) clutch, throttle, Tyres and tubes Cush drive, wheel bearings, steering head bearings, the chain guard is new, as are the indicators, the chain, it has a new air filter and connecting rubbers, loads of nuts bolts and fasteners, the list goes on, the wheels are the original dunlops and are nice, the pillions pegs aren’t fitted in the pictures but I do have them and will be fitted for the new owner.

All 3 numbers, engine, frame and gearbox are all of course matching

The bike has seen light use on sunny days since completion, it is, as you can see in the pictures immaculate, this bike is on the road and ready to go.

It starts easily, is beautifully set up and a joy to own and ride, quiet, smoke free, smooth and powerful, like a good commando should be

I have the V5 in my name, registered as historic for tax and MOT exemption

Viewing is encouraged to appreciate how nice this bike is, I’ve spent a fortune as you can imagine

I’m a bit short of space … apparently I can’t keep them all… hence the sale but I’m in no rush to part with this so while I will listen to offers please keep them sensible.

This is cash on collection or bank transfer (preferred) only please, message me for a walk around video of the bike running, thanks for looking
