1989 130 EX-MOBILE WORKSHOP CAMPER CONVERSION
1989, originally built by Land Rover Quadtec as a mobile workshop at Gatwick Airport. Bought from Cornwall in 2016 & subject to major overhaul. Original chassis in really very good condition, front cross member re-built but otherwise in totally un-welded. 2 gallons Waxoil applied. Fitted 2. 8 litre TGV engine (300Tdi on steroids) fitted, 135bhp, with new up-rated turbo. 270 ft lb torque, to Td5 Discovery spec. R380 G/ Transfer box. HD clutch. All brake/ suspension components replaced as required, mostly genuine L. R. Bulkhead absolutely solid. New OEM doors with tinted, electic windows. Tinted heated screen. New genuine LR XS heated (not connected) half leather seats on modified mountings for more elbow room. Etc., Etc. The TGV engine with DIsco gearing + 7. 50 tyres give high gearing for relaxed motorway cruising.... 75mph = 2600 rpm & 25mpg. 2, 500 mile trip around Ireland gave 29mpg overall. Solid, simple, reliable, just what you want in this over-complicated world in which we now have to live! The Quadtec body is 8' l x 6' w x 5' h, with lift up roof section giving 6' height. Full width/ height top hinged tailgate, could have drop-down sides for increased room? 6' x 4' pull-out (5 seconds) seating to bed. 2 burner + grill +sink/ drainer. Full height rear cupboard, upper part contains bedding, lower has Porterpotty emergency loo. Electrolux gas/ 12v fridge. Gas storage compartment on nearside, 1 x 6kg + 1 x 3kg propane bottles. Manual switch-over split charge (I don't like electronics!). 240v socket for hook-up. Avtec TV + Visionplus aerial. Extra instruments, rear camera/ LED down lamp etc., etc. Sadly now for sale due to changed circumstances, don't know how to value it so pitched at offers over £25k.
