Excellent fully restored car with upgrades and conversion to Cooper S MK2 styling. Brand new £8000 engine fitted in 2023 and just run in. Was fully restored and built to this amazing spec by previous owner around 12 years ago with no expense spared. I bought the car from Richard Williams Classic Minis in November 2020 and have maintained and upgraded no expense spared since then, including a completely rebuilt £8000 spec engine and gearbox and late Cooper leather interior upgrade, as well as cosmetic changes such as new bullet mirrors
Engine
The engine was rebuilt in 2023 by Andy Davies from ML Motorsport with engineering by AC Dodd. It’s now a 1330cc, with a custom fast road AC Dodd ACD-RS cam, 1 3/ 4” SU carb, Gas-flowed & ported cylinder head, Mini Spares Evo Lightweight Pistons (+60 Thou), Polished & peened con-rods, balanced crankshaft & pistons, Standard rockers, MED engineering timing gear, duplex timing chain, balanced pulley & alloy timing cover assembly, Electric fuel pump & fuel pressure regulator, big-bore exhaust.
The engine was built to be a “fast road” spec, with smooth idle, lots of torque and great top end power courtesy of the custom AC Dodd cam – and pistons machined to give a compression ratio of 9. 45:1 to ensure it lasts! A fully refurbished SU carb was fitted at time of rebuild, and custom needle profile tuned and setup to perfection by AC Dodd.
Gearbox & Drivetrain
Standard 4-speed gearbox, Special high grade driveshafts, Minilite 10” alloy wheels fitted with Falken 165/ 70r10 tyres fitted in 2023
Braking & Suspension
4-pot KAD special brake callipers front, standard mini drums rear, High-Lo adjustable suspension with Moulton cones, SPAX adjustable shock absorbers.
Cooling
Fletcher alloy radiator, full silicone hoses, Kenlowe electric fan
Ignition & Instruments
Aldon 123 Electronic Distributor, fuel pressure reg, rev counter.
Interior
John Cooper steering wheel & gear knob, brushed alloy interior door handles, custom interior the comfy real leather seats from a late model Cooper. Matching door cards from the late Cooper and rear pocket bin liners.
Cooper S Mk2 style rear lights, badging & indicators, Cooper S Mk2 style boot lid with drop down numberplate, Rear Lucas Rally spotlight, colour coded wheel arches, twin Cooper S style fuel tanks.
Vehicle History
This mini was bult from the ground up by previous owner with no expense spared. And I've cherished it and maintained it also with no expense spared - including over £6500 on the fully rebuilt, tuned and setup engine last year. It is a real head turned at shows, thanks to combination of the colour, stance and styling upgrades. A real retro look. It drives fantastically now with the newly built and setup engine. This is a VERY reluctant sale for me.
