Believed to be the Mann Egerton display car at the Series 3 launch event in March 1979, the Sovereign has had just one former keeper prior to us - although it’s recorded as two because a director of the original company owner took it with him on retirement.
We acquired the car from him in 1985 at 26, 000 miles and used it on a regular, though decreasing, daily basis until 1992 at which time it was dry-stored at 56, 000 miles until re-commissioning in 2011. Re-commissioning & maintenance work has been carried out since then including new headlining, new windscreen, replacement Pirelli P4000 tyres, new rear valances, exhaust system, subframe mountings, radius arms & bushes, rear brake calipers, discs & pads, brake flexys, fuel pump, o/ s fuel tank, tank senders, pipes and change-over valves plus numerous service items (folder of Invoices to show). Battery replaced 2021.
Complete with original toolkits, document wallet, hardback handbook, stamped service book, sales brochure and many old MOT certificates.
The Daimler is in good condition with everything working and it can be used and enjoyed 'as is' or taken to the next level.
