The Austin-Healey 100/ 4 BN2 was a sports car produced by the British automaker Austin-Healey between 1955 and 1956.
The Austin-Healey 100/ 4 BN2 was a popular car among sports car enthusiasts in the 1950s. It was powered by a 2. 6-liter, four-cylinder engine that could reach a top speed of around 106 mph and go from 0 to 60 mph in just over 11 seconds. The car was successful on the racetrack, winning the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1956 and the Mille Miglia in 1953, 1954, and 1955. It was also used in many other racing events.
An upgraded version of the 100/ 4 called the Austin-Healey 100M (or 100/ 4 BN2 Le Mans) was produced from 1955 to 1956. The 100M was a factory-built competition version of the 100/ 4 BN2 and had several performance enhancements, including high-lift camshaft, larger carburetors, high-compression pistons, and a free-flow exhaust system that increased the engine’s output to 110 horsepower.
Only 640 units of the 100M were produced, making it a highly desirable collectible today.
