BMW 320 Si. Homologation limited edition street version of the car Andy Priaulx drove to victory in the 2005 World Touring Car Championship. This classic was built in compliance with FIA homologation regulations with support of the BMW-Sauber F1 works, with a limited run of 2, 600 cars, 500 released in the UK.
Essentially a 3 Series M Sport special version with higher compression, a custom head with larger valves, large bore/ short stroke engine block with aluminium alloy cylinder liners replacing the stock cast iron units, engine red lined at 7, 300 rpm puts out 173 hp at 7, 000 rpm. Touring car looks, includes front and rear aerodynamic body styling, sports seats with electric adjustable bolsters, sports suspension and aluminium interior trim, BMW Motorsport motif alloys.
Really handsome car in very clean and well cared for condition. Excellent roadholding, no modifications. 2 keys. Drives well but not running perfectly, a bit lumpy from catalytic converter/ lambda sensor problems, printout from engine analytical report attached (the faults noted on electrics are not applicable). Lumpy running showed up at 129, 000 with throttle control work carried out.
Very minor marks, some kerbing. Has had professional and invisible repairs to the rear offside quarter.
-Large file of service history. Comes with spare wheel and space-saver spare.
-New set of the correct Bosch tri-electrode spark plugs
-Uprated Delphi coils (more heat resistant than Bosch originals)
-New PCV valve
-Full service with Bosch filters
-New rear shocks and suspension parts
-New timing chain
My son and me intended to go to the Nurburgring with this cracking car, but life often decides otherwise! No point in leaving it standing on the drive, so time to let it go. Already appreciating quickly, already a classic but set to be even more so. It's a driver's car, looks and feels great. Just needs the niggling uneven running sorting out.
