This Bianchi Tonale belonged to my brother Bill who sadly died five years ago, he bought it to use at the Moto Giro (one pic below) He did a huge amount of work to make it mechanically sound, it has a Japanese charging system and easily wafts out about 14 volts, it has a new Amal Carb, it starts easily and rides really nicely, it has a pleasant torquey nature and behaves well.
Bill fitted different wheels with a bigger (190mm I think) front brake, the wheels are 18 inch and have Avon tyres fitted. The original wheels with new stainless steel rims and spokes and virtually unused tyres are included, these are 19 inch. The seat and paintwork on the tank are tidy, the rest of the bike is mechanically correct but its scruffy, there are lots of really nice period fittings like the levers, handlebar brackets and valanced mudguards.
If you ever contemplated doing the Moto Giro or the Milan to Taranto event you're unlikely to find a more capable machine in this price range, it's a joy to ride.
It's a charming throwback to the '50s and rides beautifully
