This stunning Morris Minor Traveller was subject of a comprehensive restoration between 2017 and 2018 and has covered just a few miles since. The Traveller was part of a North East car collection, simply kept on display and unused until first coming to us in 2023. We then carried out some light re-commissioning work ahead of selling the Morris to one of our customers near Hull who has used the car sparingly over the 2023 classic car show season. Sadly due to health issues, the decision has been made to part with the Morris.
Whilst not finished to a concours standard, this is an incredibly sharp, high quality, smart and presentable example that was restored by a Morris Minor specialists to a very high standard that would no doubt today cost way in excess of our asking price to replicate. The body was treated to new wings to the front and rear, new inner wings, sill ends and various other connecting panels. A brand new ash frame was fitted with new aluminium infill panels and all new glass and window runners fitted for a high quality finish. The body was painted in Almond Green on completion of the bodywork, subject of all new brightwork and the interior fully re-trimmed. The wheels were powder coated, a new grille fitted and new lights were fitted.
A huge amount of money was also spent on the mechanicals that included re-conditioning the 1098cc engine and gearbox. The braking system was overhauled and upgraded with a servo and front brake discs, the Morris has also been enhanced with an alternator conversion, electronic ignition, larger HS4 carb, sports manifold, two speed wiper conversion, rear seat belts, upgraded Bluetooth stereo and telescopic front and rear suspension. When with us in 2023, over £2000 spent on servicing the Morris, re-calibrating the speedo, replacing the brake master cylinder, rear brake shoes, engine side cover gaskets, gearbox seal, fitting a new Powerspark electronic Lucas type distributor, setting the timing, replacing the indicator stalk and various minor detailed jobs due to the lack of use. The Morris has also had a new battery and set of tyres.
PPK 264E is an upgraded, perfectly usable Morris Minor Traveller that has proven faultless on the road and is ready to go.
