motodrome are pleased to offer this superbly restored 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 300TDi.
All it’s VIN and engine numbers are visible, in the right places (bulkhead, underbonnet plate, chassis offside front dumbiron, engine block) and matching the V5, making this example eminently US exportable.
It’s one of the nicest Defender refubishments I’ve seen. The external spec includes:
• Full, high quality repaint in Bronze Green with gloss black wheelarches and rear crossmember
• Black metal front grill and wing vent
• Black Mach 5 wheels with new mud-terrain tyres
• LED lights including headlights
• Gloss black chequerplate to wingtops and modesty covers
• Two-piece doors so the doortops can be removed for summer
• Rear roll bar with integrated seat belt mounts
• Exmoor Trim bikini hood with fume curtain
• Side opening rear tailgate
• Load area chequerplated
Inside, it’s standard but with freshly reupholstered seats and new floor coverings, and a centre cubby box.
This one is the product of a recent comprehensive by Gravity Automotive. Starting with an essentially sound but cosmetically challenged 90, they’ve created something quite special. The work included
body off inspection
Chassis cleaned back and painted
Full suspension overhaul with all new components and bushes
All radius arms blasted and powder coated
Full body bush kit installed
New fulcrum
Brakes overhauled with new rear brake pipes and hoses
Rear tub stripped to metal stone chipped and painted
Seat tub stripped new ends fitted and stone chipped then raptor painted
Floor panels stripped stone chipped and raptor painted
Bulk head repaired then primed / painted externally and raptor painted internally
Roll cage adapted blasted and powder coated
Engine service consisting of oil/ oil filter/ cambelt
Air filter
fuel filter
Coolant replaced
Brake fluid drained and re bled

Odometer reading now 199500 miles, but don’t let this concern you as mechanically it’s in very rude health, and 300TDi’s can go on forever if looked after
It’s absolutely stunning, and a real credit to the restorers. I doubt you’ll find a better export-ready one on the market at the moment.
