1964 Jaguar Mk10 3. 8 automatic.

'On the button' and ready to use.

Matching numbers car with heritage certificate.

76k miles from new with supporting paperwork to verify the mileage.

One registered keeper until 2018 when he passed away and I bought the car. I am the second keeper on the V5C.

The body of this car is incredibly sound and original for a MK10. It took me many years to find a MK10 with a body this good. The floors and boot floor are all rock solid and original with none of the usual patchwork of welding you see when you lift the carpets on other examples. The car has a full stainless steel exhaust system so no issues there either. When you've seen a few damp and musty examples, you'll be very happy to see this one - as I was when I found it.

The first owner clearly dedicated much of his life to preserving this car. He was an engineer and documented everything he ever did with it. He kept every single invoice, even down to buying nuts, bolts and washers for it. It took me a weekend to sort through the boxes of paperwork that came with the car, all of which is now chronologically presented in three A4 document wallet binders. In particular, there are pages and pages of handwritten notes covering everything he did with the car and every maintenance project he worked through. The best part of the paperwork is that it contains dozens of original 1960’s and 1970’s invoices from Coombs of Guildford for servicing and parts. You may never see another car with a set of history files quite like this.

When I bought the car, it had clearly stood for a few years due to the owner's ill health, so I had the car thoroughly recommissioned mechanically by K&N Jaguar in Bosham who have serviced it ever since. Works included:

- Full nose to tail service including plugs, points, fluids, filters and HT leads
- Carburettors were stripped, rebuilt, balanced and tuned
- Fuel tanks and fuel system were drained and flushed with new flexible hoses fitted
- New fuel pump fitted
- Brakes were rebuilt and the brake master cylinder was reconditioned
- Diff and all four wheel hubs were serviced
- New geared starter motor fitted
- New vacuum tank fitted
- Speedo and rev counter were rebuilt
- New battery fitted
- New coolant hoses fitted
- Washer bottle stripped and rebuilt
... and much more, all documented in invoices that accompany the car

I also had a set of five correct 14” wheels powder coated and painted, and fitted with new correct 205VR14 Dunlop tyres from Blockley. All five wheels were also fitted with new chrome wheel trims and hubcaps.

The interior leather is in completely original condition with the usual signs of wear for a car of this age. I have regularly conditioned the leather to keep it supple.

The paintwork is the one aspect of this car that a future owner may consider improving. There is some crazing to the roof and bonnet, although the surface is smooth and has polished up well, and there are some areas of spray can repainting. You will see from the photos that the car presents well overall and, in my ownership, I have felt that the authenticity of its patina has been a key part of the car's appeal.

I have used the car for multiple events over the past five years and it has been a regular feature on the Lavant Bank at the Goodwood Revival and Member's Meeting since I bought it. It's a car that always draws a big crowd of admirers

Having thoroughly enjoyed the car for past six years I am now selling it to fund other projects.
