Description
This was a USA import in June 2019 having two friends as the first two keepers, myself the third. From what i was told the mileage seems to correspond with the bikes condition especially the engine and its alloy which looks way younger than its age. Matching numbers so pretty original however the chrome on the mudguards in particular the rear is worn but look ok until close up as the photo's may show. The Takasago chrome rims though are in exceptional condition and they seem to be rarer on the XS650 Special than the alloy mag wheels. Avon roadrider tyres front and rear.
The bike at the moment has an all in one rear light based on the BSA style i think but the stock rear lights are there and an easy swop. There is a stainless steel rear mudguard and new side panel badges as seen in one of the photo's reading Special 650, also the higher style bars are there, again an easy swop. The bike starts easily on the button or kickstart and runs very nice and every item working as it should. If you require any more information or photographs of a particular area perhaps please let me know. Worth mentioning the stock silencers are also showing worn chrome in parts and there are a few minor marks here and there around the bike however for its age it is a good 9 out of 10 i. m. o. and very presentable. Also being over 40 years old it is tax and mot exempt. There is a missing reflector on the rear shock left hand side. Only owned it since last year and i'm sure a question would be why am i selling. I retired last year and i had always fancied this model well mainly the engine. Would have preferred the earlier model more in line with my biking days but good ones were way more money that i saw. Since buying health issues have come along and i think its the end of biking for me, in this life anyway. Looking to recoup most of what i paid to be honest and i feel the new owner would not lose as they continue to rise in price as a look on here shows. I am obviously open to sensible offers close to the asking price.
