Description: The Yamaha was a beast of a machine in the world of large-displacement single-cylinder off-road motorcycles and this one is no different. Its simplicity and power made it a favorite among riders back in its day and it still holds a special place in the hearts of many off-road enthusiasts. This road registered 1985 Yamaha YZ490 was imported to the UK most likely from the United States & first registered here February 2018. Starts first kick if you have the knack which we will pass on to the new keeper if required. HPI clear with recent report present. Runs rides perfectly with loads of power as shown in the Youtube video link above. Original service manual included. The mileage is unknown as there are no clocks on this bike. Good tyres. Running on R30 type Castor based 2 stroke oil which smells lovely. Due to the age & nature of the beast this bike is sold as it is without warranty although these engines have a reputation for being very tough. This legendary crosser is very much priced to sell so be quick!
