This first generation Mercedes 500E is just stunning. With 322 BHP and that wider flared arch stance, it has serious road presence. This particular car is in wonderful condition, has clearly been well maintained and has a virtually unmarked exterior and interior. I purchased it from a Mercedes Main Dealer and have driven it across Europe and enjoyed it for over a year. The next owner is in for a treat.
The exterior paintwork is “Blue Black Metallic” DB199 with contrasting “Alto Grey” bumpers and side panels and it looks stunning from every angle. The wheels have been upgraded to an original 6 spoke diamond cut, 17 inch wheel and they are fitted with Michelin Primacy tyres.
The interior is such a lovely place to be and like all 124 series cars, the quality of materials used and the manner in which everything is laid out is hard to rival. Everything works exactly as it should from the heated seats to the new “retro” Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio with full bluetooth.
The 5 litre V8 engine is well proven and reliable, with an output of 322BHP it’s relatively under stressed and is as happy in city traffic as it is on long and fast continental cruises. This car starts, drives and in every sense performs as it should.
The 500E is an iconic car and only 10, 479 were produced. If you like Mercedes “young timers” with performance, this car is hard to beat.
