1929 Lanchester 30hp Landaulette
Registration number KJ 5595
Chassis number 8072
Engine number 8073
Right hand drive
4, 400cc 8 cylinder overhead-cam engine
With unique opening rear quarter bodywork built ‘in house’ by Lanchester
Originally ordered by an Indian Maharajah, and delivered to his estate in Kent, then finished in a rather sedate black, the car never made the journey to India!
Nonetheless, the history file of KJ 5595 tracks its ownership through to a committed member of the Lanchester and Daimler owners club, where its extensive care and maintenance are well documented, both in club magazine features and by correspondence and photographs
This imposing and original Lanchester is finished in Primrose yellow over black, featuring black leather to the Chauffeur’s office and opulent red leather and carpets to the rear
Fitted wicker basket and twin side mounted spares
The car with its impressive straight 8 engine is running and driving well, with a delightful patina
Most recently appearing in the final Downton Abbey film
