First registered on 1st July 1960, this example has just 4 former keeper’s registered on the v5. The gentleman we purchased it from for the past 27 years. It is a genuine factory convertible with the correct M-AT chassis number and 948cc engine
The Morris has been very well maintained in his ownership with a large history file detailing many repairs and parts over the years, including a reconditioned unleaded spec engine in 2007 together with clutch kit. A reconditioned gearbox in 2010 and many bills for brakes, shock absorbers etc
There have been a few sensible upgrades over the years such as front and rear seat belts, alternator conversion, direction indicators which are positioned under the bumpers. The original trafficators are still working on a separate switch. Being an early car it has the clap hand wipers and gold faced speedometer
A new hood was fitted in 2010 together with refurbishment of the seats. All in all very well presented
The underside is very sound with no nasty welding. There have been a couple of small repairs but these have been done to a good standard by a specialist and documented in the file. I performed perfectly on the road, no transmission whines, engine starts easily from hot or old and sounds very healthy. The bodywork again is very sound. There are a few paint imperfections and some touched in paint on bottom of one door but the previous owner informs us that these were present when he purchased it 27 years ago and have got no worse
To summarise this Morris is ready to jump in and enjoy. It has been garaged all the time and very well maintained all its life with a substantial history file to back everything up. It has been annually serviced and mot tested which alone is rare nowadays with the exemption in place. Please do view the mot history on line. The current mot is valid until September 2025. The all important structure is very good, bodywork has some areas that could be improved upon but it still presents very well and we have allowed for that in the asking price
