INTRODUCTION
The Ferrari 348 was the final mid-engined V8 Ferrari to be developed under the supervision of Enzo Ferrari. It replaced the Ferrari 328 and was launched in 1989. The name shows how it had advanced over the 328. Instead of a 3. 2-litre V8, it had a 3. 4-litre V8 with 300 BHP. With TS, Ferrari referred to: "T" trasversale, for the transverse gearbox mounted at the rear of the engine and "S" is for spider (targa top)
The body was designed by Pininfarina (Leonardo Fioravanti) and alongside with the sister the 348 TB model, this was the first series production Ferrrari not to have a separate tubular steel chassis frame. Instead it used a pressed steel chassis, with a separate tubular steel engine sub-frame bolted to it, with the body panels robot welded, and bolted, to the main structure.
Eventually the production stopped in 1993 when the 348 was replaced by the Ferrari F355. In total around 4230 348 TS cars were produced in the chassis range from 81651 to 96964.
PROVENANCE
This specific Ferrari 348 TS, chassis 88445, left the Maranello factory on 14-12-1990 and was delivered to its first owner on 01-02-1991. The car was ordered in the color combination Rosso Corsa over a Nero leather interior.
The current owner recently decided to sell the car and for that reason, this beautiful 348 TS is now looking for a new caretaker who will pamper it as much as the previous owners did.
