You probably know all about the Jowett Javelin, therefore I won't waste any time writing about what a fine and quirky car it was when designed by the famous Gerald Palmer and introduced to the UK public in 1947.
These Bradford-based classics are rarely offered for sale these days and this early 1948 model is a little beauty, arriving in the country from South Africa just three years ago. Understandably rot-free, she is a sound and eye catching example and drives well. I am told the precious owner concentrated his efforts on the car's mechanics and looking inside the engine bay (after you have looked far enough down to even see the famous flat-four unit) all looks fresh and new.
The Javelin went through five variants from the PA to the PE This is an early PA (All had 1500cc engines knocking out 50 bhp) and has the mega rare early dashboard plus other early features. It has been suggested in Jowett circles that this particular car is the oldest surviving roadworthy Javelin in the UK. Another rare feature of this ex-S. African gem is that it come with its original factory "hard wearing" and heavy duty seat covers. The colours of the vehicle, both inside and out, are the same as when it left the factory.
A chance to stand out from the classic car crowd by owning this highly usable old girl.
