Description
Offered on behalf of the current owner, this delightful 1934 Jowett 2-Seater Tourer is a charming example that we previously sold some years ago and are pleased to welcome back to Hardy Classics.
Finished in a striking bright red with a leather interior, this little Jowett is perfectly suited to relaxed country road driving, particularly in warm weather. Despite its modest 748cc engine, the car feels surprisingly lively and is great fun to drive.
The car has benefited from extensive restoration and repair work, supported by a comprehensive history file with invoices totalling over £13, 000 in 1998 alone. Thoughtful modifications have been carried out to enhance its sporting character, including:
Engine lowered by six inches within the frame
Tuned to fast-road specification
High-compression pistons
Twin carburettors
Lightened flywheel
Sports camshaft
Modern alternator discreetly housed within the original dynamo casing, providing improved electrical performance while retaining period appearance
Overall, the Jowett presents extremely well and drives just as nicely. It is clear the car has been carefully maintained over the years, something that is evident both on the road and in its appearance.
This is a stunning and characterful pre-war tourer, ideal for a private collection or museum display alike. Supplied with its history file and V5C, this Jowett is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
