Superb condition – truly a must-see
We are thrilled to present this immaculate Fiat 500, finished in a rich, vibrant red with a tan interior, complemented by a classic Webasto-style sunroof. This iconic Fiat boasts a show-quality condition that speaks to the significant time and expense invested in its restoration. Its striking appearance is nearly factory-original, with tasteful modifications like Fiat 126 wheels and a period-correct upgraded steering wheel—both easily reversible if desired. With its believed history as a showroom display, the Fiat's remarkable preservation is evident in every detail.
Ownership History and Provenance
First registered overseas in 1971, this Fiat 500 made its way to the UK in April 2010, when it was acquired by its first UK owner, a gentleman of Italian descent from Sevenoaks. The vehicle then passed to its second UK owner in January 2018. A collection of invoices dated from 2021 onward reflect a substantial investment in quality parts, totaling over £12, 669. If labor costs were included, the restoration value would be even higher. This level of care is evident upon viewing, and we encourage potential buyers to see for themselves the meticulous attention to detail throughout.
Following its arrival, we entrusted the Fiat 500L to Creed & Shore Motorworks for comprehensive mechanical preparation ahead of retail sale. The work carried out in May 2025 included:
Straightening the steering wheel
Fitting a new alternator and fabricating a custom spacer
Removing, cleaning, and rebuilding the carburettor
Replacing the gearbox mount
Repairing and refitting the engine mounting
Installing new rear brake cylinders
Replacing the rear wheel bearings
Fitting new rear brake drums and bleeding the braking system
Replacing damaged seam sealer where fuel had previously leaked
Installing a new fuel tank
Rectifying issues with the front headlamp wiring
Checking the front brakes
Road testing and adjusting both doors
The total cost of mechanical works was £3, 335. 36.
After returning to The Forge, the car was sent to M. L. M Automotive for final cosmetic preparation, which included correcting minor paint blemishes and performing a full machine polish to present the Fiat at its best.
The Fiat has since been serviced by ourselves using a complete service kit from Ricambio International, including Air filter, Oil filter, Fuel filter, NGK spark plugs, Fan Belt and fresh Castrol engine oil.
