Description
NOT so long ago, pre-covid, we would hear ourselves asking: "What can you buy in the classic car marketplace for under 3k?" Now, it is more like what can we buy for under 5k? Well, here is a lovely 1960s saloon just ready for regular use and it comes in at £4995. This 1967 Morris Oxford Series VI stayed with the same family from new until just last year. An astonishing time span of 57 years! It was treated to a full resto back in the 90s and there is an expansive photo file with the car depicting the serious amount of work that must have gone in to bringing this family saloon back from the brink of extinction. It has worn well since then with the passage of time creating some patina, but nothing that would put people off from wanting to own such a lovely thing at this sort of money.
It looks as though all bad metal was cut out and replaced by new. Hence she remains rock solid and is a pretty car, standing well on the road. Also a terrific driver with tight steering and superb oil pressure. It is just the sort of classic you could use - and would love using - as an everyday car. Trafalgar Blue with light blue leather, this Oxford has clearly been a family pet. Now it's the turn of someone else to welcome it into their own fold.
The all important sills are in great condition, the speedo reads just 41, 000 miles and she has had new tyres this year. She has been treated to an alternator conversion as well as a new carb needle and jet. Recent service completed while front seats have new foams, padding and diaphrams.
