My Vauxhall Astra Design 1. 8 Automatic Estate Petrol car is now for sale as I recently retired and we really only need one car. We have decided to sell both of our cars and upgrade with one bigger newer car to tow our new caravan, and a cheap classic car for me to tinker with. My wifes Suzuki recently sold so now its the time to sell my car.
I spent a very long time looking for this Astra as I specifically wanted an estate with an automatic gearbox. I was delighted to find what I considered to be one of the best ones on the market and I believe still is today. The engine and automatic gearbox, as fitted, are known to be 100% bullet proof. I also wanted a car that is ULEZ compliant, very low mileage and in perfect condition. This Astra ticked all the boxes and more, serving me faultlessly.
Has only been used as a local runaround during my ownership. In the last year I have literally covered about 200 miles! The car is 100% reliable and a joy to own. The MOT is valid until 18/ 09/ 2026 and passed with no advisories. The mileage as of today is 37, 140 miles, which is verified by the VOSA MOT history and full service history. The paperwork is extensive and really is as good as it gets. It includes a V5 registered at my house in my name, present MOT certificate, every MOT since new, service book with over 15 service stamps, every service and repair invoice from new, and full owners manual/ book pack. I also hold two keys, key code, plastic tag thingy, and passcode card. As mentioned the service history is incredible and includes an invoice for a timing belt change at 31, 000 miles. Vauxhall main dealer servicing was carried out till 2019, from there on an independent workshop (invoices for every service). Just two private owners before me, one of which owned this car for over 17 years!
The condition is excellent throughout, the interior is perfectly clean with virtually no wear, the body/ paintwork is in excellent condition. You will of course find the very odd mark but please be assured she is as described. The tyres are all excellent with plenty of tread. You will note from the pictures a spare wheel is fitted (unheard of these days!) and, along with the tools, is unused. During my ownership we have had no mechanical issues and she has been nothing but 100% reliable, I expect the new owner will continue to enjoy the same. I will be sorry to see her go, but now looking forward to the running cost of one car and having a little old classic car to play with.
