Description
Here for sale is my 2003 BMW 330ci Factory Manual M sport
I’ve owned this car since July 2024 and I’ve enjoyed owning it, but I’ve had my fun and it’s time for somebody else to give it the love it needs. 123k miles, MOT has lapsed.
While not being the highest spec E46 you can buy, I t’s a nicely specced car; titan silver exterior over grey leather interior. Best bit is the Navy Blue soft top! Sets the car apart from the usual black soft tops. 3 litre petrol obviously with a 5 speed manual. Cruise control, auto lights and wipers, working AC (good for de misting in the winter, realistically you won’t use it in the summer). Aftermarket OEM style Bluetooth Head Unit. M Performance Factory backbox I believe, such a nice sound while not being noisy in the slightest. It really is a joy to drive flicking through the gears.
The car overall is rust free in all the main areas. Arches are near enough perfect, I haven’t seen an E46 with rear arches so good. Jacking points are absolutely solid, with the original paint still on there.
Since I’ve owned it, I’ve replaced;
* Drivers window regulator
* Convertible roof pump (works perfectly now)
* Rear tyres (one brand new now and other on about 3mm as had a blow out)
* Rear discs and pads (brembo), handbrake shoes (Delphi)
* Rocker cover gasket (febi). Recently replaced, but can still sometimes smell oil around that area, so possibly just burning off what had leaked out
* Pair of front wings- brand new, sprayed and sealed around the arch lip where they usually rot so should be good for the foreseeable!
* Inner and outer track rods
Unfortunately, hence the low price for a nicely specced E46, it does have its imperfections;
* 2 easy patches of welding needed underneath, where the 2 rubber grommets go in the floor, rear footwells either side. The hole has enlarged slightly, and the grommets have fallen out. This is not a structural place, so in theory should pass MOT as it is, but I will mention it and buyer can decide what to do with them. Can send any prospective buyer photos
* ABS Issue. The car is not reading wheel speed at the NSR wheel. Unfortunately this is the wheel that the speedometer uses, so has taken out the speedo with it. I use WAZE every time I drive, so it hasn’t been an issue to me as I use the Waze Speedo, but obviously needs to be sorted
* Bodywork isn’t 100% perfect. Looks good for sure but has had a poor respray on the drivers door, and there are a few dings here and there as to be expected with a 22 year old E46. 100% presentable and cleans up very nicely.
* Wheels need a refurb- previous owners street was horrendous for kerbs and so tight so I can’t say id have done any better at not kerbing them
* Typical M54- uses a bit of oil. Doesn’t smoke blue on start up, so id say with a crankcase breather mod im sure you’d stop that. Keep an eye on the oil and you’ll be grand.
* Will benefit from 4 wheel alignment
* NO MOT- I was going to sort these issues and advertise it for closer to £3k, but with a banger rally trip coming up and other cars requiring my attention, I’ve given in and came to the conclusion this needs to go as it is, as it’s already been sat for a couple of months waiting for me.
Overall, it’s a fantastic, fun car that is only going to appreciate in value, after a small amount of work you’ll have a lovely bit of summer (or winter, if you’re brave enough) roof down fun.
I have an OEM wind deflector that can be included for full asking price, or if we can come to a deal. Makes such a difference to draft inside the car
I’m after £1795 or near offer. Located in Truro, Cornwall. Viewings welcome.
Thanks for reading. Sam
