1931 Austin 7 Ulster Replica - Professionally Built
This superb Ulster replica is, without question, one of the finest examples we have handled. Expertly constructed by renowned Austin 7 specialist Steve Hodgson, the car has only recently been completed and has covered minimal mileage since. Fresh from its first oil change, it is still running-in and is perfectly poised for next season’s events.
Engine
Fully rebuilt engine
Phoenix crankshaft with balanced and re-metalled rods
Reground camshaft
Offset-skimmed high-compression cylinder head
Bosch ignition with rev-counter drive
Ported and fitted with 1¼” SU carburettor
Gearbox
Rebuilt gearbox
Fitted with higher second gear
Rear Axle
1931 long-nose axle
4. 9 ratio for higher top speed at lower revs
Front Axle
Correct bowed beam, matching original Ulster specification
Crack-tested and plated steering arm
Bound front and rear springs for a firmer, more controlled ride
Chassis
1931 coupled-brake chassis as used on original Ulsters
All components date from 1931
Shot-blasted and stove-enamelled finish
Body
Rod Yates body with additional rear strengthening
Bespoke wings and stays built in the TT-type Austin 7 style
Correct instrumentation and seating to original Ulster pattern
