Rosso Imola is a new Ferrari red specially for the 296 generation cars and is a deep, warm, metallic red paint with a subtle gold/ bronze flake, offering a more refined look than standard reds. Paired with the rich tones of Cuoio leather and contrasting Alcantara for the interior this Ferrari 296 GTS is contemporary, elegant and perfectly balanced with subtle carbon touches and all of the right options.
At the core of the 296 GTS is a 3. 0-litre, 120-degree twin-turbo V6 pushing 654 horsepower. Pair it with the hybrid system, and output climbs to 819 bhp—enough for 0–62 mph in 2. 9 seconds, 0–124 in 7. 6, and a top speed beyond 205 mph, even with the roof down.
But the numbers tell only half of the story. Slip into E-Mode, and the 296 glides in near silence for up to 15 miles and can run at speeds up to 83mph (though not at the same time). Switch back, and the exhaust note snaps you back to reality: this is still very much a Ferrari.
A symmetrical cylinder firing order, equal-length tuned exhaust manifolds and an 8, 500rpm red line mean that this Ferrari sounds like a Ferrari should: sonorous low down and rising to an operatic crescendo as the revs rise.
