Description

Arriving this week at the garage!

1946 MG TC – Competed on HERO-ERA’s Flying Scotsman Rally

For many years the MG TC has been regarded as one of the archetypal British sports cars of its period – purposeful in appearance, with the classic rear ‘slab’ type fuel tank, long swept front wings and a brisk performance, the car was every youngsters’ dream in the early post war years. Demand from North America was to take precedence in those ‘export or die’ times and the waiting list for home market cars was very long indeed.

The example offered here is one that didn’t venture overseas being a UK supplied car from new.  It is also quite an early example bearing chassis number TC0426.  She is in fact the 175th MG TC built as the first production car was TC0251.

Restored to a very good standard this car would appear to be extremely correct.  She waswas purchased by the current owner in 2019 and competed on HERO-ERA’s Flying Scotsman Rally in 2022 and 2023 as well as enjoying a number of MG Car Club runs.

More information, photographs and a video will be updates as soon as she arrives and weather allows.
