Description
The 1. 6 VCT-i Sigma engine superseded the original Sigma in 2014. Offering variable cam timing these later engines produced a little extra torque and power, as well as a small additional improvement on fuel consumption. This meant that the entry level engine increased from 125bhp to 135bhp, and the uprated version of this engine increased from 140bhp to 152bhp. This soon led to the model names being changed from Roadsport and Supersport, to 270 and 310. Unfortunately, this incredibly reliable and diverse engine has now gone out of production and as such is no longer a part of the Caterham range.
This stunning, modern 270S provides a highly refined driving experience and finish to a marque which existed for more than 60 years. The 135bhp on offer in the 270 is more than sufficient to thoroughly enjoy the experience of driving a Caterham around on the open roads or enjoying trackdays if so wished. More than that, it offers a sublimely easy and comfortable drive, free of any niggling doubt over reliability, making the 270 one of the most accessible models ever for regular use.
This one owner SV bodied example has just 5600 miles on the clock, and is as close to a virtually new example you could find of one of Caterham’s most popular, now ex-models.
