Description
If you are reading this advert, the motorcycle is STILL for sale.
Fresh into stock, this absolutely gorgeous UK registered May 1975 Triumph T160 with matching numbers. All original, which is very rare for a T160 and air-box and silencers have normally been changed. The motorcycle does benefit from electronic ignition. Imported in from the Arizona USA in 2014. Starts, runs and rides superbly. Mileage is verified with every MOT since it arrived in the UK. History file contains lots of receipts and original handbook and a Haynes manual. The T160 is probably the best looking British, or indeed any country, motorcycle ever made, and certainly the best motorcycle pre Hinckley ever made. just over 7, 000 were built at the old BSA factory in Small Heath Birmingham. The T160 is a heavily re-worked Triumph T150V, with shorter fork legs and a longer swing arm to push the weight forward to improve handling. Left hand gear change was now standard because of the demands of the US market, where left hand gear change was mandatory from the January 1st 1975. Cylinders are slopped forward (3 degree more than a Rocket 3) not to get the starter motor in as everyone thinks, but to get the huge air-box in, again now mandatory for the US market to cut induction noise. And the result, an absolutely magnificent motorcycle! We will change the oil, filter and plugs before sale. Be quick on this one, every T160 we've had over the the years lasts about a week, before it's sold!
