Example located in Portugal, originally equipped with a electrically-operated sunroof and electric windows.
Presented in very good overall condition, this Corsa GSi recently graced the cover of “Topos & Clássicos”, the leading Portuguese magazine devoted to classic cars, where the car and its history were put in the spotlight.
Delivered new in Portugal, the car belonged to a young enthusiast who spent much of his professional life abroad. A few years later, it was sold to a neighbour who never obtained a driving licence, which explains the long period during which the car remained stationary, remarkably preserved from heavy use.
A few years ago, a close friend of the first owner — with whom he once shared many memories at the wheel of his Peugeot 205 Rallye — discovered that the car still existed and managed to acquire it. The story of their youthful adventures even features in the magazine article about the car.
Although the car was already in very decent condition, the decision was taken to undertake a thorough mechanical and cosmetic restoration. The car was completely dismantled and carefully overhauled, with substantial work carried out on several levels. The engine was opened and serviced, the suspension upgraded, as well as numerous other maintenance and refurbishment tasks. Some photographs of the process are included.
Today, the car is used regularly and runs perfectly on the road. As is normal for a road-usable classic, a few minor aesthetic faults would deserve particular attention if the next owner wishes to take the car to an even higher level. One of the original GSi dashboard instruments is currently not functioning, and the car is temporarily fitted with a non-GSi instrument cluster, though the issue appears easily reversible.
Increasingly hard to find in an honest, unmodified state, the Corsa GSi / Nova GSi has become one of the late‑90s compact sports cars most prized by collectors and enthusiasts, thanks to its light weight, lively engine and purely analogue driving experience.

The car is located in northern Portugal, near Porto airport, which is served by many low-cost connections across Europe. I would be happy to welcome any seriously interested buyer at the airport.
