We have the pleasure of offering for sale our stunning 1998 Yamaha R1. This UK registered example is in beautiful condition and as covered just 8, 181 miles from new. It is supplied in totally original specification and comes complete with the original handbook and service book, spare key and a host of receipts and old MOT's. The bike was last serviced in September 2024 at 7, 826 miles and will receive a full service and fresh MOT prior to sale.
The 1998 Yamaha YZF-R1 is one of the most influential sportbikes ever made. When it was launched, it effectively changed the superbike class by combining nearly 1000cc power with the weight and agility of smaller 750cc race bikes. Many riders consider it the bike that started the modern litre-bike era. Yamaha designed the R1 around a very compact “three-axis” engine layout, allowing them to fit a long swingarm into a short wheelbase chassis. This gave the bike excellent traction and handling while keeping it incredibly agile.
