Description
A beautiful W126 300SE that we have just imported from Japan. High spec and in great condition throughout.
Finished in Midnight Blue with optional blue velour trim, its equipment includes automatic climate control, electric front seats, electric steering column, rear reading lights, cruise control, outside temperature display, automatic gearbox and 15-hole alloy wheels. So, a very well specified car indeed.
We specifically look for cars like this in Japan as most 126s we see in the UK are fairly rusty and require way too much work to be economically viable, even if they look nice from afar. Whereas, thanks to the climate, culture of garaging cars and no road salt, cars like this 300SE have zero corrosion, and that is the key to buying a W126 these days.
The bodywork is in lovely condition, and this colour takes no prisoners. It has just been machine polished too so there’s a fantastic depth of shine. The bumpers and Sacco panels retain their correct satin finish, and the bumper chromes are unmarked.
The underside, as previously mentioned, is immaculate. The wheels are freshly refurbished and wear recent, matching Pirelli tyres, which is a nice sign of careful ownership.
Inside, it is clear this car has been garaged. There are no dash cracks, and the seats remain a rich blue colour without any fading.
The expensive when new, optional velour upholstery is in exceptional condition. Original ribbed over mats. Only some minor cracking to the lacquer of the wood trim around the gear lever belies its 36 years.
Less than 70k miles from new. All original books and manuals come with the car and service history. Will be serviced by us for the new owner at point of sale.
The air conditioning has recently been serviced and blows lovely and cold, and the cruise control module has just been refurbished. New Blaupunkt radio and aerial fitted. Recent MoT with no advisories and now UK registered.
Drives very nicely indeed – very smooth, quiet and with ample performance.
While once fairly ubiquitous in the 90s, decent W126 S-Classes have become extremely thin on the ground in recent years. Widely regarded as being the best S-Class of the lot, they combine traditional Mercedes style and quality with simplicity compared with later models.
A high spec car in great colours in a condition that offers tremendous value for money.
