Description
Here we present this 1968 Karmann Ghia Type 14 Coupe. It is offered as a working vehicle requiring some mechanical attention, making it an ideal opportunity for an enthusiast looking for their next challenge, or for someone wishing to commission the work through our workshop.
As confirmed by its Volkswagen Birth Certificate, this German-built Karmann Ghia was originally supplied to Los Angeles, California, USA, and has remained with just one UK keeper since being imported. It was originally finished in L50F Regatta Blue, a colour offered exclusively for the 1968 Type 14 and still wears today. Reportedly, it still retains its original 1, 500cc engine, along with matching body and chassis numbers.
One of the biggest advantages of this vehicle is its structurally solid foundation. While the bodywork does show some cosmetic imperfections, these could quite happily be enjoyed as part of its character. The interior presents itself in good condition. Mechanically, it requires some refinements to bring this Karmann Ghia up to the standard it deserves. Whilst it still runs, drives and presents a valid MOT, the engine is noisy are would benefit from reconditioning.
Positioned at the lower end of the Karmann Ghia market, this example has been priced to reflect its condition, with the major advantage of requiring no welding.
Please take the time to review the full image gallery and walkaround video for a clear representation of this Karmann Ghia’s condition.
