Description
The Jowett Eight is a vintage British light car built by Jowett Cars Ltd in Bradford between 1937 and 1940. It features a 946 cc side-valve flat-twin engine, a four-speed gearbox, and sold 2, 888 units as saloons and commercial vans before production stopped due to World War II.
This Jowett Eight was first registered in 1937 in Leeds, and more recently has spent a number of years in a museum in Devon.
The engine starts and runs well, it is surprisingly perky and it has a new 12V battery fitted, as well as a new exhaust.
The drivetrain is as you would expect, it pulls along nicely and makes no nasty noises.
The bodywork is very solid and there are no areas or corrosion, it’s as clean underneath as it is on top.
The seat was retrimmed during the restoration and there are no rips or tears.
There is now a number plate fitted to the front (not in the pictures) and we do have the current V5.
