This Ford Cortina was restored in 2005 winning Best Cortina Restoration in Show at Billing and 2nd best overall.
Certificates are present in the large history file along with pics of the restoration.
The metalflake Pergeot Blue paint looks stunning in the sunlight and having cost £ 3, 000 it should do.
This is set off by the striking white vinyl roof .
This car may not be for the purist but with 180BHP and stunning looks this Fast Ford always cuts a dash and the V6 sounds awesome when arriving at your local Classic Car show.
She has just had a winter service and tune up - so running great.
The brakes are brand new Lotus Cortina all round. The remote servo makes for a soft pedal - or a soft-feeling pedal - but the balance and bite is all there. The last owner fitted Capri 3 litre front coils: The rear shockers are coil-overs and I've beefed up the axle attachments: when I got the car, The engine is a very good Capri 2. 8 that I'm told has been bored out to 2. 9 and lightened and balanced and has since done only 10k . Finished off with chrome rocker covers - It will have cost small fortune to build - somewhere in the region of 3 - 3. 5k I've also improved the cooling system; rebuilt the carb and refined the throttle pedal.
The colour has apparently been mixed from Citroen and Peugeot blues: when the sun is on it, it looks stunning. Body wise all is good. New sills were expertly fitted many years ago. Ditto the rear arches. Other parts have also been replaced. MOT wise she passed without problem . Not quite mint but not too far away .

I had this car insured for £ 8, 000 but the Cortina club told me to put it up to £10, 000 as it would be hard to build another of this spec for that price.
Savage replicas this good don't often come onto the market so be quick before I change my mind !
