1936 Ford Model Y Van
First registered in November 1936 this original bodied Model Y Van was subject to a complete renovation in what I believe to be the early to mid 2000s by one of it’s former owners in West Sussex and still retains it’s original registration and engine as well documented by the Ford Model Y and C register.
BAH 592 then enjoyed a short stay in Dufftown, Scotland in the early 2020s adding to its array of sign writing.
I purchased the Van in 2024 at Beaulieu returning it to West Sussex. For a 20 year old restoration the Van is in incredible condition often turning heads, winning trophies at local shows and even featured in ‘Classic and Vintage Commercials Magazine’
During my ownership the van has drove superbly after having its brakes adjusted and the steering box greased and tightened. As well as a new 6 Volt battery.
There was a hole in the exhaust when I purchased it which has been temporarily welded though could do with replacing for a lighter replacement. The seats could also do with re stuffing though are all original. And sadly the windscreen has cracked during the winter though still opens as it should ( has been dry stored throughout my ownership though I am actively looking at getting this replaced though will keep perspective buyers updated)
I have also accumulated a lot of spare parts in the last two years including new points (which have also been replaced) a spare engine and gearbox! Believed to be from another ‘36 Model Y Van. A real rarity for a vehicle 90 years old, a rear axle, and a set of 4 wheels (minus the spare).
This van is a well known ‘survivor’ and ready to show ‘as is’ or perfect for someone wanting to advertise their business.
I am located in West Sussex, not far from Goodwood Motor Circuit. A real survivor, still displaying its original registration which many other Model Y Vans do not.
Also comes with a plethora of spares as mentioned above which I feel reflects the price for an already rare van!
